Summer Rain

If you are actually in the St. George area when it rains ( a rare occurrence ) then jump in your car and get close to the nearest set up rock formations. View from a distance as waterfalls build on the rocky plateaus and then cascade over the edges and down the vertical masses. Visit Kayenta, Snow Canyon, Zion National Park and other great rocky locations and you're likely to see waterfalls at every turn of the road. Stay out of slot canyons or washes during these time periods. Water can move rapidly and rise very high inside a slot canyon or a wash. Even if it is raining several miles away, you should keep an eye and an ear out for the sound or sight of moving water. So the rule of thumb is just stay out of the low areas when it is raining and enjoy the views.
